The geographical distribution of boats shown in the '09 & '10 editions makes this calendar of interest to any boater, boat lover, or marine photographer. Maynard Bray, a historian, authors a brief description of each month's feature, written in clear language and with a lot of background as to size, maker, date, features, and other building detail. These photos are on semi-gloss stock, quite suitable for mounting and framing. In this 2010 edition, there is a page stapled in with previews and an order form for the 2011 calendar, as well as screen savers, a postcard book, address book, 3 hardcover and 1 softcover photography books, and boxed note cards with Mendlowitz' marine photos. Bray's photography is always beautiful, the boats different, unique and entertaining. I wouldn't know how to carry on the year without the lovely light, wood and grace of this calendar to greet me daily. By Wood Boatnik "Wood Boatnik" (Freeport, IL) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Wooden Boats 2010 Wall Calendar (Calendar) I bought this calendar as a gift for a friend who owns a wood boat restoration business. Although he tends to do more wood power boat work, he has designed and built several wood sailing vessels ( a Snipe for example).
He was thrilled with this calendar and even knew one of the guys featured on one of the pages. |
