I have a wonderful collection of fine nude art photography from the likes of my favorite photographers including Bruno Bisang, Guido Argentini, Frank De Mulder, Bruno Poinsard, Andreas M. Bitesnich, Marc Lagrange, Peter Jirmann Jr. and of course, Stefan May. 'WOMEN ONLY' is my third book by May (3 of 4) and most recent book for my collection. I have 'WOMEN' and 'COUPLES' by May, both are extraordinary and beautifully photographed books.
'WOMEN ONLY' is a fine and improved addition to the original 'WOMEN' book. A few images are from the same shoots as 'WOMEN', though not the same photographs. Most of the photographs are more recent and presented in a lovely manner. The women in the book are exquisite, the composition, the lighting and the positions of the models all compliment the subjects and their alluring femininity. The photographs are graceful and sensual and are delightfully presented in such a way that the women are never exploited or on display, but presented...Read more

My opinion on this particular work is divided. On one hand, Mr. May (Dr. May, indeed!) is an accomplished photographer. His shots are stylish, not particularly bold, but tremendously classy. He seems not to venture in new territory, and it's definitely not ground breaking. That does not take the merit on the mastery he shows with the camera, lighting and staging, besides, without reinventing style, he does plays with it very successfully.
On the other hand, the part of the setting of the book he probably did not do himself, deciding order and location in the page, was done in an absolutely terrible manner. First, let's be honest, multiple-page photographies work in centerfolds and basically nowhere else, and it works there because you can lay the magazine flat enough to make the distortion of the fold marks negligible. This is basically impossible to do with a hard cover book of this size without destroying the binding. This book contains 106 shots, from which 70 occupy a...Read more

I'm no artist or art critic, so take my review with a grain of salt. The book itself is well constructed and printed on quality paper. I found only one page where there appeared to be a small printing flaw. The book consists mostly of tasteful, nude poses of women (and women only as you can gather from the title). There is nothing shocking in its portrayal of naked women. We keep this book on a coffee table in our living room, and visitors cannot resist flipping through it and discussing the topics of female beauty and personal preferences.
