Wine: 2011 Mini Day-to-Day Calendar

The worst calendar I have ever bought. Where to begin?

"...this full-color calendar...". A blatant lie. It is a few shades of red and yellow, and quickly becomes visually tiresome.

"A fascinating tidbit about wineries is featured each weekend." This is a poor attempt to disguise the fact that there is a paid winery ad every 6 pages being passed off as valuable information.

It is poorly researched. January 17 : "As a rule of thumb, if you can see through a red wine, it's ready to drink." (Or maybe over the hill!) February 8 : "Oak imparts different characteristics to the wine such as butter,...". There are wine writers who believe this, but none of the better informed writers think it is true, but rather that the only origin of butter flavor in wine is malolactic fermentation (lactic acid produced from malic acid via the same bacterial process occuring in milk products).
