Product Review

The daily comic strip Get Fuzzy is cartoonist Darby Conley's wry portrait of single life with pets. In the Treasury of the Lost Litter Box, the gang is back to endure the trials and tribulations typical of any family . . . more or less.

At the center of the mischief is Rob Wilco, a single, mild-mannered ad executive and the guardian of Bucky and Satchel. Bucky is a temperamental cat who clearly wears the pants in their eccentric household, while Satchel is a gentle, sensitive pooch who struggles to remain neutral, almost guaranteeing he'll wind up on the receiving end of whatever trouble Bucky has cooked up.

Treasury of the Lost Litter Box is a compilation of the Get Fuzzy misadventures previously chronicled in Ignorance, Thy Name Is Bucky and Dumbheart. Treasury of the Lost Litter Box is perfect for fans of the comic strip and a hilarious, if not-so-gentle introduction for new fans.

LOST LITTER BOX puts together the previously-released "Collections" IGNORANCE, THY NAME IS BUCKY and DUMBHEART. The Get Fuzzy Treasuries are larger-format, 8 1/2" x 11" books, with the daily strips printed in the same nice readable size as in the Collections, and the Sunday strips in color rather than in black and white and--mostly--printed a bit larger than they were in the Collections. LITTER BOX contains a bit over a year and a half of the strip; at 253 pages, it's a couple week's worth longer than the previous Treasury. (Until I actually counted, I'd assumed the Collections were a year and the Treasuries two years; oops, wrong.) From evidence in some of the strips, I guess this brings us up through--or at least into--2007.

"Get Fuzzy" chronicles the sometimes stressful life together of three apartment-mates: Bucky Katt would rule the world and amass a fortune, if he could just get Rob to fund his schemes and if he didn't sleep 20 hours a day. Satchel Pooch is cheerful,...Read more

Darby Conley's TREASURY OF THE LOST LITTER BOX provides a fine 'Get Fuzzy' comic series about a conniving cat and a good-natured dog who address life's questions. Mostly black and white and some color panels pack a satisfying collection!

First of all, I ordered this book for me. However, when it arrived, there was mad dash and grab for the book and I lost. I am now third in line to read it. But it's great to hear the kids cackling out loud and they share bits with me now and then. Darby Conley is a genius and I hope he stays around for many years.
