SIMPLE black and white journal designed for your own color/insights,

I received "The Sacred Journey" last year for the holidays after hearing so many people rave about it. I'm an avid fan of journaling (I keep both a written journal and art journals) and I was excited to receive a planner that not only had prompts but also lots of space to write/create in. I was expecting something big and spacious and colorful and just beautiful to behold.
I have to admit, when I first opened "The Sacred Journey" I was VERY disappointed. There's not an ounce of color in the entire planner- it's just 280 thin black and white pages with minimal graphics and design. The prompts are basically single words ("gratitudes", "affirmations", "goals", "opportunities") at the beginning and end of each month, and the planner itself is straightforward- just long rectangles for each day of the calendar, like every other planner on the market, with a blank page facing the calendar so you have space to jot in your own stuff.
HOWEVER, "The Sacred Journey" has...Read more

A couple of years ago, a very good friend sent me this journal as a gift. I have been journaling on and off for years. When I received the journal she told me that much of what she had written as hope, dreams and wishes had come true. She wanted the same for me.
Dismissing this, I thoroughly enjoyed the journal and its layout. Thiele takes you on a journey by guiding you through various suggested activities. My heart calling, the spiral spread and my credo are three examples. Each month she provides a symbol, gives you a place for goals, opportunities, gratitudes and affirmations. At the end of each month is a place for you to acknowledge highlights and insights. And each day there is a small space to record whatever you want to capture.
Another thing I enjoy about this journal is that it lays absolutely flat when open. I have found it a great respite to record the comings and goings of life. It is a lovely book and I look forward to using it in 2012...Read more

I was originally looking for a roomy appointment book that would accomodate my style - I am a lefty and like to take notes in addition to keeping track of my schedule.
Inputting my monthly and daily schedule on the right side of each open page is very easy because there is enough space for all the details. I then have the left side pages for my ruminations, doodles, etc.
I even scrapbook in it, because there is enough room for memorabilia. I've been committed to the Sacred Journey Daily Journal since 2006 and intend to continue for as long as it is available.
