This review is from: Sylvia Sidney needlepoint book (Hardcover)
This is a surprisingly sophisticated needlepoint book by old time movie star Sylvia Sidney. Tidbits of her career are interspersed with the story of her journey to becoming an advanced needlepointer. There are black and white photos and directions for various stitches and techniques but no patterns. Color photos of her beloved pug dogs, the St. Francis of Assisi prayer, wonderful crab and frog pillows, and an intricate woodland scene will inspire. Recommended for its historical value.

This review is from: Needlepoint Book (Paperback)
I came across this book in the early 70's when I first became interested in needlepoint. At that time it was the only book on the market that showed original designs and the first of celebrity books on the subject as people were becoming interested in needlepoint once more. I have made a number of the designs and they are charming, and well depicted so that they are easy to use. I have returned again and again to this book. If you are a serious craftsman you will treasure it.
