After a small internal debate, I bought the 2011 Sewing Calendar and I am very grateful that I did. As usual with me, I came home and ripped the wrapper off the pages and thumbed through. Shocked, I made a pile of projects I had to make ASAP and projects that could wait, but the ASAP pile was huge! For those unfamiliar with this calendar, over 100 cute little sewing projects are presented, a different one every 3 or 4 days. These were submitted by popular craft and sewing bloggers. This review is from: Sewing: 2011 Day-to-Day Calendar (Calendar) Not much to say about this edition except I think the 2010 calendar was superior in terms of project ideas. Don't get me wrong, it feels like there's a million ideas in here, but some were scraping the barrel in terms of whether you'd really go out of your way to make them and some were just downright lame. Still, there are a few I'm keen on.
A note to the publishers in particular - why did you scrimp on the box this year? Last year's was so sturdy and stood up to much handling, but this year's is clearly going to struggle. |
