One piece of paper, with so many possibilities! From Margaret Van Sicklen, passionate origami proselytizer and author of the bestselling book The Joy of Origami, this calendar brings the fun and creativity of origami to every day of the year. Fold a graceful lily, a spinning helicopter, a five-tiered pagoda. A whole menagerie of animals—cats to peacocks to sea horses—plus a rocket, a festive sombrero, a dollar-bill armadillo, and hearts and stars galore. The models are for every level of origami hobbyist, and the perfectly square, colorfully patterned pages double as folding paper. Includes weekend trivia and lore, and a separate "Origami Key" with clearly explained base folds, symbols, and other helpful hints.

Summary: Good for beginner level Origami 2010-05-15
Comment: For somebody who prefers a challenge, and intricate, authentic origami, this calendar is a bit of a let down. But I can definitely see this being enjoyed by a young person who is interested in crafts or wishes to improve their origami skill.
A few of the projects are really cool, but a few are very boring, the vast majority fall in the middle where they are rarely very challenging, and generally a bit corny.

Summary: Who doesn't enjoy folding paper when you're sitting on a boring conference call?!? 2010-03-24
Comment: Each day, I create my new Oragami thingie. I have a bunch sitting on my desk at the moment. I don't think I have enough room for the entire years' worth of them, but I sure do enjoy coming into work each day and folding my new oragami item.
After I complete this year's calendar, I look forward to trying some Oragami that is much more complicated - which are the ones I enjoy doing the most.
I highly recommend this to ANYONE who has a "one-a-day" calendar on their desk. GREAT for the "office" person who sits on phone calls all day (not a customer service - quota based person).

Summary: Cute 2010-02-10
Comment: I must be in a second or third childhood! lol
As I enjoyed Origami as a child, and as a senior I still enjoy the passing of time,
relaxing with a bit of fun.
I wish to never grow old in my mind.

Summary: The easiest way to make origami 2010-01-05
Comment: I bought this for my son who likes to origami, and this page-a-day calendar is a terrific idea. The downside is that once you folded a page, you can't do it again, so if you have some favorite pages, you are out of luck.
