"French impressionist Claude Monet (1840-1926) developed his garden in the Parisian village of Giverny, covering his extensive grounds with brilliant flowers and profuse greenery. Photographer and expert gardener Elizabeth Murray helped to restore Monet's gardens, which are now open to the public, during the 1980s; she returns each year to capture new radiance on film. Murray's detailed descriptions accompany her verdant subjects. Included are views of the Grande Allée, the famous Japanese-style footbridge, and the inspirational water garden. ¶ 13 x 12" wall calendar (opens to 13 x 24") with twelve full-color reproductions. This review is from: Monet's Passion 2008 Calendar: The Gardens at Giverny (Calendar)
I have been buying this calendar every year for almost two decades now and have found other photographers who have published calendars and books on Claude Monet's home and gardens at Giverny, France - however ELIZABETH MURRAY is the best. She combines both her photographic skills and her obvious love of the subject in her calendars. You don't throw one of hers away! Even years later friends who I have given one as a gift tell me that they keep there calendars also!
