As a fan of puzzles, being presented with one every morning helps to get my brain working and start my day on a positive note.
I personally would prefer if there were more puzzles involving logic and less word puzzles, but the word-based puzzles are still fun for the most part.
Here's a rough breakdown of the categories of puzzles I've gotten so far. Numbers may be off by a few, but it should give a basic idea:

I have been getting these Mensa calenders for the past 10-11 years for xmas. I used to really like them, and enjoyed the mental challenges presented, BUT the more recent calenders, specifically 2010 and now 2011 do not have enough math, number, logic puzzles. Solving mysteries is, formulating a few equations to solve the puzzle is, etc. Vocabulary puzzles and some trivia puzzles are good. But thinking through the givens, leading to a conclusion, is a better mark of intelligence.
I do, however, like the crossword puzzle types.
I have taken the Mensa test and have done fairly well. Staring at words proves nothing.
I know they changed writers for the past few years - I wish they would change back for 2012. Probably too late now...Read more

I buy this as a gift for my husband every Christmas. He absolutely loves this calendar. He thoroughly enjoys all the 'brain' puzzles. It nice that you can give someone a gift that lasts the whole year through. And of course it is always so easy to purchase from Amazon - timely service every time. Thank You Amazon - continue to do what you do!!!
