This review is from: Knitting: 100+ Patterns Throughout the Year: 2012 Day-to-Day Calendar (Calendar)
I got this calendar because I wanted a pattern for each day that would be inspiring (at least) and keep me creating beautiful things all year. I was a bit disappointed as this doesn't have many unique patterns (If i'm going to make a sweater for a teddy bear i'm going to take the measurements from the bear not try to find a bear that'll fit my sweater... oh yeah and i'm 25 not 12). also some pages of the "day-to-day" calendar have multiple days on them... or the pattern continues on 3+ pages. If you like this type of thing then this is the calendar for you. I think i'll just have to make my own next year. Anyway, here is a list of some of the patterns found in this product:
January:
1-3] Antonia Shrug
4-8] Basic Slippers for the Family
9-12] Cardigan for Tiny Teddy
13-15] Cell Phone & iPod Pouches
16-17] Chevron Cowl
18-22] Isabella Hat
23-26] Mitered Blanket
27-29] Elegant Snowballs Baby Shoes
30] Simple first...Read more

fewer patterns than expected,

This review is from: Knitting: 100+ Patterns Throughout the Year: 2012 Day-to-Day Calendar (Calendar)
A few years ago, when I purchased the Knitting calendar, each weekday was its own page, with some patterns carrying over to the next day. I don't know when the format changed, but I was surprised to open the 2012 version of the calendar up this morning to find that each page is two days (weekdays as well as weekends), and this time it seems like most of the patterns are carried onto the next page. So, although I was expecting that the "100+ Patterns" on the cover was a substantial underestimate, and that it would be at least twice that, it turns out to be about right, as often even fairly basic patterns are now spread over four days.
My intention now is to just flip through it for the patterns, rather than using it as a daily calendar at work as I had planned.

I just got this and I looked through it and it is going to be my chair side knitting book for patterns. It has many favorite style patterns and some fresh and new patterns. They are patterns the average knitter can do. I saw a bad report on the calendar somewhere else on the web. I am glad that I did not pay any attention to it. There is enough creativity to keep the knitter busy throughout 2012. This would make a wonderful gift for a knitter friend too. It has more patterns than 5 magazines put together. Think about the long term saving. I really like this purchase. Mary
