Product Review

Elsa Beskow's picture books have been known and loved for over a century. This month-to-view calendar is beautifully illustrated with seasonal artwork from Elsa Beskow's books. The main US, UK and Swedish public holidays are marked. The calendar includes illustrations from Children of the Forest, The Curious Fish, Ollie's Ski Trip, Pelle's New Suit, Emily and Daisy, The Flowers' Festival, Peter in Blueberry Land, The Sun Egg, and Woody, Hazel and Little Pip. All of these are published in English by Floris Books.

Love the artwork, but I wish the months had a little calendar up top for the previous month and the next month. Not a biggie, but most calendars have this. Otherwise, lovely artwork from Beskow's books that could even be framed after the end of 2011.

1.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful artwork but poor editing on very basic information, January 5, 2012

This review is from: Elsa Beskow Calendar 2012 (Calendar)
This is a lovely calendar given the beautiful artwork, however the month pages have extremely basic information (that could be easily done in the computer at home) and several months have editing errors. Some months start with the wrong date information, some months end with the wrong date information, some months have both problems. The case of December is the worst as it starts wrong and finishes in 30th December (where has the 31st gone?!?), also December ends on the cover page giving no space for notes to be added as a remark before exchanging calendars. There's no mini previous and next month chart at the bottom or a paper pocket for little information as seen in other calendars of the same price. This calendar is a lovely idea, however, very poorly executed. We were very disappointed with it. We have written a complaint to the publishers and are awaiting for an answer.
