Product Review

The Celts perceived the presence of divine forces in all aspects of nature. Patterns of harmony and balance, dark and light, winter and summer, female and male, are woven throughout Celtic tradition. Celtic knots and patterning reflect their belief in the continuity of life, the interconnection of all things, plants, animals and otherworldly divinities.
The Celtic Mandala 2012 Engagement Calendar presents the magical weavings of Welsh artist Jen Delyth in calendar form. Jen's work is founded in her deep connection to her Celtic heritage. She creates intricate paintings and illustrations, using traditional egg tempera and contemporary digital techniques. Her original iconographic style is inspired by the Spirit in Nature, expressing our mythic connection to the natural world.

I purchased this without the 'see inside' option confident that the artwork would be her usual high quality. I was pleased to discover upon receiving the shipment that the calendar was sturdy with a strong spiral binding perfect for staying open on a desk.

This datebook is awesome. I was a little concerned when purchasing it, due to it not having a look inside option. It is a hardback with a durable spiral. Upon opening there is a pocket that can hold papers, the page behind that has a year overview calendar. The each consecutive months have a tab of it's own for easy location on the day that the user is currently on. There's a place in each months' section to write an ample amount of notes if needed. Only drawback is it doesn't have a address section which is okay with me because I didn't order a address book I wanted a datebook. I will definitly come back to this one, atleast for a few years until I want to check something else out.

the way this book is set up is fabulous! the art is gorgeous. i even got jen's permission to use one of her pieces as a tattoo! she said as long as i let the artist know it was a copywrited piece i could use it. i'm so excited! my 13 yr old is also inspired by her art and is taking his own turn at knotwork! he loves it as much as i do!
thanks so much for the art!
