It remains interesting and refreshing throughout the year while calendars by a single artist can become tedious.
But I am sad about an "improvement" introduced in the 2010 edition that destroys some utility of the calendar. I once used the back side of the sheets as notepaper. Now the back side of each sheet is taken up by "The Daily Extra" which is a wide-ranging variety of useless items, such as a "Notes for the Babysitter" form, a household hint for cleaning kitchen sponges, the number of dimples on a regulation golf ball, a list of traditional anniversary gifts, a money-saving tip (make a shopping list and stick to it), and other similar items. My notepaper has been ruined by this inane feature. I'm now shopping for a different calendar. 9 of 10 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Cartoons From The New Yorker: 2009 Day-to-Day Calendar (Calendar) The New Yorker Day-to-Day calendar was my best purchase of 2008. I had a daily chuckle, and often a full belly laugh from the daily wit and whimsy of these cartoons. And it provided plenty of good material to share with family and friends, and at meetings. Never a dull moment in the office last year and I can't wait to keep up the trend in 2009. By Music Man "Joel" (South Carolina) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Cartoons from The New Yorker: 2011 Day-to-Day Calendar (Calendar) I bought this as a gift for my wife some years ago and she has wanted one every year since. She enjoys them and brings them home to share with me. Give it a try and you will be laughing too. |
