I bought this calendar for a family member for Christmas, and the photography is luminous, dramatic and original. There are seven scenes with water including a waterfall, snowscape and Apalachicola National Forest with cypress trees mirrored in the water. There are at least 3-4 photos of mountain scenery, a couple of snow scenes, some colorful sunsets, and a misty fog scene in Mount Revelstoke, Canada. Scenery is diverse geographically from the northeast in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, the south in Florida and Tennessee, the southwest in Monument Valley AZ and west in La Jolla Coast and Yosemite National Park CA and as far as Alaska.

The paper is glossy and fairly thick. There's background information on each month's photo. The calendar is quite colorful and seems like a quality gift. My wife and I purchase this wall calendar every year and it never fails to improve upon itself year after year. The 2012 National Audubon Society Nature Calendar is chock-full of wonderfully exquisite photography--that's a given. At the writing of this review, there's no back panel shot with thumbnails of each month however you can easily Google the calendar name and see them for yourself.

This calendar is absolutely beautiful. Photos are breath taking. You won't be disappointed! I normally buy a different "nature" calendar, but after reading negative reviews about the poor photo quality this year, I decided to get this one. I'm glad I did.
