I love the Motawi tiles, but alas I cannot afford the real thing. These pottery tiles, beloved by those in the Arts & Crafts and Mission movements, have wonderful color, landscape and nature designs, and... well gosh darn it, they're just _beautiful_.
Each of the well-photographed tiles provided in this calendar shows a different one of the company's classic tiles: songbirds, poppy, a diagonal rose. Lots of greens and earth colors, if that's a concern of yours. It's also a good, readable calendar.
But mostly, it's simply gorgeous. I can't wait until January, when I can have the excuse to hang it on my wall.

If you're a fan of the Arts & Crafts architectural style (Mission, Greene & Greene, etc.) then you almost certainly appreciate the aesthetic of the hand-crafted tiles from Motawi. Unfortunately for my budget, each of the tiles costs about $50 (at the low end). We've purchased a few of them and loved them -- but I must control myself.
I've been buying the calendars of Motawi tiles on-and-off for several years now, and I've never been disappointed. Each month has a well-photographed picture of a tile in their current catalog (I don't think there are any repeats from previous years) so my kitchen will be joyously decorated all year long. It's also a good calendar (in regard to completeness of dates and such).

I got this calendar for a friend whose home is done in this style, with Stickley furniture, etc. I liked the calendar so much that when it got discounted I got one for myself! I think it's absolutely beautiful.
