This review is from: Art Page-A-Day Gallery Calendar 2011 (Calendar) We looked forward to ordering the Page-A-Day Audubon Bird Calendar every year until it was discontinued. This Page-A-Day Calendar featuring Art is a worthy successor. The art is superb and the calendar is top quality. Unlike most of the page-a-day calendars, each page is on a separate piece of heavy high quality special Art paper and the entire stack sits in a high-quality specially made Plexiglas holder. Each day, you take the prior day art and move it to the back of the stack. At the end of six months (June) you simply flip over the entire Art stack to line up the page-a-day art for the second half of the year (July through December). It's 160 pages, but DOUBLE SIDED! So you actually get 320 pages of absolutely breathtaking and beautiful art. As a bonus, the individual art pieces are suitable for framing. Ingenious! Definitely worth the money!!! 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Art Page-A-Day Gallery Calendar 2011 (Calendar) I had this calendar in 2009, but couldn't find it in 2010, and I've been missing it for an entire year. Now I'm here early to make sure that I get one for 2011. Great calendar! The only downside of the calendar is that on the weekends, you only get one picture for both Saturday and Sunday, whereas every other day of the week, you get a new picture every day. Changing the calendar in the morning really added a bright spot to my day, and even my kids (6 and 8 years old at the time) asked me what had happened to the calendar, although I never made a big deal about it to them. Who would have thought that they even notice things like that when they are so busy with their games and electronics and stuff? 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Art Page-A-Day Gallery Calendar 2011 (Calendar) Having this calendar is like buying an expensive art book. The reproductions on quality paper are beautiful and frameable. The clear plexiglas case holds and stores them upright. Each day you remove the top page and place it in back of the stack to reveal the next day's image. In June you rotate the entire stack to reverse it and see the next 6 months (each page is printed on both sides). The Met's collection spans many countries and art media---paintings, sculpture, textiles, pottery, ancient artifacts and more---from all eras up to the present, and the calendar reflects this. You will not want to throw it away (that's the only drawback. I still have my 2009 calendar). If you can't get to the Met, you can still see hundreds of pieces from its collection during the course of the year. |
