Went out in the trash! 7 of 8 people found the following review helpful: This review is from: Luis Royo Dead Moon Epilogue Calendar (Calendar) I've loved Luis Royo's art for many years, and have most of his books and have always picked up the Calendars.
The Dead Moon series seems almost to have been done by a different artist, with the only consistent element being the nudity, which was never an important selling point for me. Not only has he thematically regressed, but artistically as well - most of these look like Line-Art sketches with colored pencil fills, the type of work that many amateur artists crank out within a matter of days. To make it even worse, his attempt at creating an illustrated novel with the Dead Moon story has restricted his art even further, meaning most of these images feel the same. Disappointing to say the very least, and only my respect for his previous work keeps me from calling it something even worse. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Luis Royo Dead Moon Epilogue Calendar (Calendar) I like Royo's work a lot, but this calendar isn't anything near the quality of earlier ones. Most of the art is just sketches, not his amazingly detailed finished paintings. I'll not buy another Royo calendar without seeing the art in it first. |
