The perfect supplement to any writer’s life, this new edition of A Working Writer’s Daily Planner is even better than before, packed with more of the information writers need to organize their work schedules, track upcoming deadlines, and learn about grant opportunities, contests, and workshop programs. For 2011 we turned to those who know best what writers want—writers themselves—and asked them what resources they’d find most useful. The result is a unique and indispensable tool that makes it easy for writers to keep track of the practical, business end of writing, leaving more time for them to actually spend writing.
If you’re a writer, you’ll immediately see the advantage of gathering so much information into one spiral-bound compendium: application deadlines are built right into the calendar, along with spotlights on writing markets and helpful online resources. You’ll also find information on writing conferences, advice on formatting manuscripts, suggested readings, and the dos and don’ts of submitting your work to journals, magazines, and literary agents. If there’s a writer in your life, this calendar will make the perfect gift.
And because every professional writer needs distractions, we’ll sneak in peculiar tales of the writing life, plenty of inspiring art and photos, writing prompts, and, as always, a few surprises too.

This review is from: A Working Writer's Daily Planner 2011: Your Year in Writing (Calendar) The one thing I did not like about this planner last year was the glossy paper that did not easily allow a pencil to be used--well, they fixed that issue with this volume. The paper is heavy but takes pencil like a dream and not only does this planner allow me to organize my writing life, it is totally chock full of information on contests, scholarships, conferences and more to extend my reach as a writer. Well worth the money for the content alone, and the week per page aspect allows for daily notes as well (again, this time I can use pencil--YEA!)
(did I say I love the fact the paper allows using pencils?) LOL 5 of 6 people found the following review helpful: By livealoha (maine) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: A Working Writer's Daily Planner 2011: Your Year in Writing (Calendar) I loved the idea of this planner -- but it's kind of all crammed together. the only way you can see a full calendar view of the month or year is inside the front cover. i like to be able to glance ahead as im "planning" but then again, that's a personal preference. also, i thought deadlines for conferences etc. would be etched into the actual dates, rather than just listed on the opposite page. and they kind of pick and choose which contest/conferences etc. to add into the book. overall, it doesn't make my life any more organized ... but a great idea if executed better. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
