2013 Wall Calendar: Breaking Bounds

I gave this to a friend for her birthday. It is very beautiful and until it is opened and you can view each month, you have no idea the captivating art that is there. It is truly a piece of art for any room. My friend loves it too!

Breaking Bounds calendars have been gracing my wall for 5 years now and I hope they still are in 5 more years. Lois Greenfield captures the energy and grace of dancers making the dancers feel more like art than anything else. There are always a couple pictures that I really hate, which I think is the mark of an artist who is pushing limits successfully.

The joys of this photographer and these pictures is that a month is barely enough time to go from the `wow' factor through the `amazing', `how do they do that' to a great appreciation of dance and those who dedicate themselves to it before another month begins.

As a double bass player, I bought this calendar because I saw the cover and thought, "That isn't something you should do to a double bass". I imagine most people would feel the same way seeing the dance moves of three or four people together in air.

The calendar has a lovely large full 11 by 13 inch picture, oversized, and some minor dance pictures down in the date space. There is plenty of space to write in each day, or leave mini notes.

Each year's calendar rises steeply in value and I would recommend getting this one before the same happens. Even if you already have a calendar, for a child, teen or lover of dance, or ballet, this will open their eyes to what is possible beyond...Read more
