Product Review

They're cute, they're cuddly and they're a global sensation. While today's sock monkey may not look exactly like the ones that were being sewn in the Victorian era (the red lipstick is certainly a new age invention after all). These adorable bits of monkey business will brighten up any wall whether it's in a cubicle or baby's nursery. From sock to stuffing these timeless photos provide a whole's worth of enjoyment in 2012.

I was truly looking forward to my 2012 Sock Monkey Calendar which I received a couple of days ago. I decided to note the important dates from my 2011 calendar when I noticed the date fell on the exact same day of the week as the 2011 calendar (so it appeared). Essentially (I thought) this is a 2011 calendar with the incorrect year on the front cover and new sock monkey photos. Sadly teNeues Publishing plainly states on the inside flap of the calendar and I quote "While we strive for utmost precision in every detail, we can not be held responsible for any inaccuracies..." Well...that's a pretty darn big inaccuracy... So I began to flip through each month and noticed that they correctly put the leap year date in February.. now I was truly becoming confused and I began to scrutinize the new calendar... then I noticed they [teNeus] began the week on a Monday not a Sunday...grrrrrrrr....so now the calendar is theoretically correct if you don't mind starting your calendar week with...Read more

I was so disappointed to see Monday as the first day of the week. Never have I seen a wall calendar with Monday as the first day.

I'm giving two stars instead of one, as the other reviewers did, because I like the pictures so well.

To try to get used to the order the days are in, I've marked the Sundays and Mondays in heavy marker for Jan. but so far the position of the weekdays is very, very confusing.

We've been very happy with the Sock Monkey calendars in years past but this year they switched up the layout so that the week begins on a Monday instead of a Sunday. Time to switch calendars. Goodbye Sock Monkey. We'll miss you.
