Great layout, poor color choice,

Purchased 3 copies of the 2012. One for my daughter, one for myself and one for a gift. Several years ago my daughter introduced me to Amy Knapp's Calendar/Planner which she loved. Two years ago I switched to Amy Knapp also. Total disappointment in the 2012 "redo". Cover is OK but I very seldom see the cover since I keep it open. The new color writing inside is almost impossible to read! The blue was so easy on the eyes and no problem seeing the words. If the inside color is the same next year I will have to think hard whether I want to buy 2013.
I do not understand why the planner begins with August,2011 and wasn't for sale until October 1. Plus, I already have August, 2011 through December 2011 so why do I need a duplicate of August through December? That is killing alot of trees for no reason.

I have been using this wonderful organizer for 5 years now. I love the space to write out a tear-out weekly grocery list, space to plan menus and space to plan out weekly and monthly goals. (In the Christian edition, the goals section is reduced and below it a prayers and praise section has been added. It has weekly pages AND monthly pages. Each month's page is at the beginning of that month's weekly pages.
One caution I do see is that when you have a weekly page on the backside of the monthly page, you could mistakenly lose your monthly planning section if you tore out the grocery list on the backside weekly page. At least the design makes impossible to tear out the monthly grid.
Also, some reviewers in the past were critical of the 18 month time span (August through December of the following year.) I like this format. I think that the cost and marketing of having two versions outweigh the extra pages that you get with this format. I also don't think the...Read more

I bought the Amy Knapp planner two years ago and loved it...it really fits the way I think and plan. Monthly and weekly calendars with space to write all of my different lists right within the week I am in. Sad to say, as much as I loved it, I didn't buy it the second year because I just did not like the cover. I was so pleased to see a new cover. I think there are so many talented designers and interesting patterns, that the cover could continue to be improved, but this is definitely a step in the right direction. Hey, if they are really into marketing, they could even make a series of stick on covers to cater to different tastes.
