MY WIFE LOVES THE LA TIMES CROSSWORD PUZZLES AND IS INDUSTRIOUSLY GOING THROUGH THE SHEETS. SHE LOVES TO CARRY THEM IN HER PURSE AND WORK ON THEM WHEN WE ARE OUT.

I have enjoyed the LA Times calendar crossword books for some years now, and I was sad to discover recently that this calendar for 2011 is likely to be the last one which they will produce. However I think that their crosswords are still going to be available online.

I'm not sure why filling in crosswords is so pleasing and restful - at least for as long as one is able to work out the answers to the clues.

As you will realise, I'm a crossword addict, who lives in London, and one of the reasons why I enjoy the US crosswords is the extra interest from the linked but different cultures. Spelling too is varied - colour/color, sabre/saber and so on. It keeps me on my toes!
